  • Grab's lending business, Grab Financial Services Asia (GFSA), focuses on providing microcredit to under-served communities. The GFSA team combines strong talent from its Regional Hub in Singapore with deep local market operators.
  • We aim to build a team with the best mix of business drive, industry expertise, and local market knowledge. The GFSA team handles all aspects of lending, from conceptualization to ongoing management in its focus markets.
  • The Country Credit team sets and executes credit risk management policies, working closely with the Country Head and Regional Credit Risk team to use data and technology in risk management.
  • You will report to Head of Lending, and work onsite at the Grab Malaysia office.

 

Get to Know the Role

We're looking for a Risk Associate who will manage and structuring of the internal and external data, automating the credit risk assessment processes, and developing dashboards to monitor portfolio risk performance.

 

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • You will take lead in developing an end-to-end credit framework and guidelines for management of the Driver and Consumer Segment and create the policy along with the regional credit team.
  • You will manage credit risk operations for the Driver and Consumer segment.
  • You will create a credit whitelist using alternative data within or outside the GRAB ecosystem and determine the viability to be included in the credit model in view of the complexity and dynamics of the MEX segment.
  • You will establish a Driver and Consumer credit model, uncover insights, and identify targeted areas for improvements, and collaborate with the lending unit and collections to further improve the lending portfolio.
  • You will work with external vendors or agencies such as RAMCI, Experian, to improve the credit processes.
  • You will monitor credit performance to identify underwriting weaknesses for pivoting to new credit underwriting methods for business growth.
  • You will coordinate with the lending and collection unit in the development of data collection, data analytics, and other strategies to analyze statistical efficiency and guide decision-making.
  • You will work with lending unit, data analytics, collections, and finance teams to create the country's credit policy, collection strategy, and maximize return while minimizing credit loss.
  • You will help design and implement reports and performance measurement dashboards for senior management with the relevant insights to help senior management to make informed decisions.

Qualifications

The must haves:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or a relevant background.
  • You have 5+ years of relevant work experience in credit policy and credit analytics.
  • You can conceptualize and build credit scoring using non-conventional alternative data.
  • You have technical expertise regarding data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • You are fluent with SQL, Python, R or other tools for statistical analysis.
