Get to Know the Team
The Singapore Public Affairs team drives strategies and advocacies, prioritises partnerships and orchestrates Grab's engagements to support matters related to public policy and Singapore's national agenda. It also supports Grab Singapore's engagement, including supporting senior leadership based in Singapore, interactions with the Singapore government, community stakeholders and the public policy community, and partners with Grab teams to address emerging regulatory, reputational and political risks related to Grab's businesses and services.
Get to Know the Role
You will report to the Head, Public Affairs, Singapore and play an important role in supporting partnerships strategy and Grab's engagements with the Singapore Government, community stakeholders and public policy community.
You will be involved in in-house policy development with regional teams on financial services, gig economy and antitrust, and product policies that serve a public interest angle. You will be the go-to person for regulatory consultations which span Grab's transport, deliveries, and financial services, and distillate and clarify complex public policy issues for internal and external audiences.
You will be based onsite at our One North office in Singapore.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Support strategy implementation for Grab's public affairs - work with the local country business and corporate support teams to provide analysis, assessments, and develop action plans on emerging regulatory and public policy issues and to advance Grab's social mission.
- Build and manage strategic government relations and partnerships - establish key partnerships with relevant government stakeholders, serve as Grab's liaison with government stakeholders and represent Grab at key government meetings and events.
- Work with regional public affairs teams to analyze public policy issues, develop positions, and provide advocacy recommendations.
- Collaborate with our teams to plan, launch, execute and evaluate key public affairs initiatives and campaigns.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- At least 5 years of experience in public and government affairs in Singapore in either public policy, regulatory, strategic advisory, and planning and partnership/project management roles.
- Passionate about making a positive impact in the community and on public policy issues.
- Experience orchestrating multi function efforts and managing plans.
- Skills in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders, including government, policy-makers and public policy community.
- Ability to maintain performance and focus under pressure and adapt swiftly to changing circumstances.
