Get to Know the Team

Unified Configuration Management (UCM) is a critical service at Grab for centrally managing configurations for backend services. It offers a standardized approach to handle configurations across diverse services and supports a template structure and hierarchical configuration, reducing configuration duplication across environments. UCM's design allows developers to develop configurations with minimal effort.

Get to Know the Role

At the UCM team, the Backend engineer's role is important for designing a seamless, and efficient system. As an important contributor to the development team, the Backend Engineer ensures that all the APIs, Databases, Integration with other systems work smoothly. This role is based in Vietnam and hybrid. You will report directly to the Vietnamese Engineering Manager.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design the main components of UCM system which include the SDK, CI/CD pipelines, daemon, UCM UI.
• Collect and analyze user feedback, identifying areas for improvement and prioritizing feature development accordingly.
• Implement best practices for web development, ensuring high-quality code and following performance, security, and accessibility standards.
• Identify issues, implement fixes, and ensure portal stability and performance

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• You have at least 4 years of backend programming.
• You have at least 1 year of experience with Golang.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services, preferably to have AWS architecture certification.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Minimum 1 year in frontend technologies such as React or Angular. React is preferred.
