  • The Merchandise team is responsible for overseeing the design, production, and distribution of our merchandise. We aim to inspire appreciation and loyalty by offering rewarding merchandise to our delivery- and driver-partners, thereby creating a platform where they feel valued. Our team comprises individuals with expertise in various aspects of merchandise management, supplier relationships, and stakeholder engagement. Get to Know the Role:

  • We are seeking a Merchandise Specialist with a knack for enhancing and managing our merchandise process. This role centres on devising and implementing the overall merchandise strategy, managing merchandise end-to-end for our delivery- and driver-partners, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Additionally, the incumbent will be accountable for setting up and managing the operations of our merchandise webstore, Kedai Rakan Grab. Despite the role's focus on merchandise, the specialist will also be part of wider organisational resource initiatives, crossing both tangible and digital boundaries.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Strategy Design and Implementation: Develop and execute strategies designed to streamline and improve the end-to-end merchandise process. This involves monitoring the current process flow, identifying bottlenecks and implementing enhancements.
  • Inventory and Budget Management: Oversee merchandise inventory and ensure budget alignment, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimising wastage.
  • Programme Development and Management: Reinvigorate and broaden the scope of the milestone merchandise programme, which honours significant achievements of our delivery- and driver-partners on our platform, fostering a sense of accomplishment and community.
  • Webstore Operations Management: Establish and oversee the operations of the merchandise webstore, Kedai Rakan Grab, with a focus on delivering a smooth and enjoyable user experience.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain robust relationships with vendors in alignment with Procurement, ensuring the smooth execution of merchandise production and delivery. Engage with internal stakeholders to synchronise merchandise rewards with partners' milestones.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Track key metrics, prepare insightful reports on merchandise trends, partner feedback, and process efficiency, and use this data to inform future strategy and actions.
  • Procurement and Order Management: Oversee the Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders within the Oracle system, ensuring a streamlined and error-free process.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to bring in relevant content, address concerns raised by the stakeholders, and use feedback to improve services or offerings.
  • Communication: Engage effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, and team members through excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilise Oracle and basic data analytics tools to manage the merchandise process efficiently and derive actionable insights.
  • Project Execution: Employ project management principles to handle multiple initiatives concurrently, optimising planning and execution strategies to ensure seamless collaboration across various teams.
  • Customer Engagement: Understand and apply basic customer service principles and techniques, demonstrating a genuine passion for serving and engaging with our partners.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Psychology, Business or Marketing.
  • 3-5 years’ of professional working experience, preferably in merchandise management or similar roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A process-oriented background, with high attention to detail.
  • Capable of focusing on all areas of a project or task, and are thorough in reviewing the task.
  • Start-up attitude – willing to work hard to get things done.
  • A "go-getter" attitude and always willing to help other members of the team wherever needed.

The Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with Oracle will be an added advantage.
  • The ability to speak, read, and write in more than one language can significantly enhance effectiveness in communicating with a diverse member base.
  • Passionate about Grab’s social mission and making a positive impact in the community.
  • Experience in managing campaigns will be beneficial in promoting merchandise rewards and engaging partners effectively.
  • The ability to create engaging content to promote merchandise rewards will be a considerable advantage for this role.
