Job Description

(Intake period) Candidates should be available for this internship in July or August  2024

Get to know the team

The Integrity data science team builds AI models and systems to fight fraud and risk. We extensively use data mining, machine learning, language processing and computer vision technologies on a multimodality dataset of users’ whole lifecycle. With the growth of Grab’s business and tremendous amount of activities and transactions happening hourly on the platform, there is huge demand for AI technology and great opportunity for innovation.

 

Get to know the role

  • Work on real world challenging problems in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision and deep learning that can ultimately scale up the AI capability of Grab’s platform. 
  • Generating novel ideas in different application scenarios
  • Process data, gather insights, and make plans
  • Develop algorithms and models, finetune and productize models
  • Documentating, presenting and communicating ideas, results and learnings

 

Learning Opportunities 

  • The candidate will have opportunities to work with domain experts who understand fraud , financial risk, safety, content moderation, etc very well.
  • The candidate will be mentored by senior data scientists who are experienced in respective technical domains.
  • Opportunities to work with peta scale data and modern AI infrastructure, access to GPUs for deep learning, including LLMs and Diffusion models
  • Open for academic research and publication.
     

Qualifications

The Must-Haves

  • Excellent research and coding skills in a related field preferred.
  • Proficient in Python, or other production languages like Java, Golang, C++, etc
  • Familiar with core data science skillset, like data wrangling, writing SQL/pandas/spark for ETL, using open source algorithm frameworks to train models, and visualizing the results
  • Current knowledge of the latest development in machine learning and deep learning, experience in Graph, computer vision, sequence based models a plus
  • Good written and oral communication skills required
