Get to know the Role
Be the risk policy subject matter expert around the lending risk domains. Conceive, launch, and deliver risk strategy that can balance between risk and reward.
Identify and analyze emerging risks and trends, and provide recommendations for policy and procedure changes as necessary to mitigate related risks. Engage with cross-functional stakeholders in regional risk policy, engineering, data science, data analytics, product, and business teams to implement risk mitigation and improvement solutions, as well as to optimize risk controls and
processes.
Perform risk assessments for new products/features and implement relevant mitigation controls.
Own and drive continuous improvements in key risk metrics; report facts to senior and executive management in a clear, concise, and data-driven manner.

The Day-to-Day Activities

  • Lead end-to end development and management of consumer lending risk strategy in Indonesia
  • Independently design data-driven and analytical strategy and solutions to business problems with acceptable risk
  • Manage and track effectively lending portfolio, also advise on the action that need to be taken
  • Close collaboration & coordination with various teams - business, engineer, credit decision engine, data science, operations, legal, finance, & regional teams

Qualifications

The Must-Haves

  • A recognized Degree qualification, preferably in Business, Finance, Operation Management, Economics, Computer Science and Engineering)
  • At least minimal 7 years of full-time experience across consumer credit, broader Retail/SME
  • Significant experience and senior professional network in Indonesia in financial services, E-commerce and retail sector
  • Strong track record of delivery of tangible business results across previous roles Able to make key business decisions or provide solid recommendations based on data & analytical thinking
  • Able to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across functions such as credit risk, operations, legal, finance, & regional teams
  • Business modeling on Excel
  • Data Analysis, including using SQL, Phyton, Excel
  • Design effective PowerPoint presentations
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Firm understanding of the local financial regulatory environment, compliance and customer due diligence process
  • Intelligent, motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and work ethic High levels of adaptability, comfortable with ambiguity and working in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex; Ambiguous) environment
  • Prior experience in consulting/ problem solving and strategy design preferred. Prior start-up and/or financial services experience preferred
