Job Description
We’re looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our People Team at our Warrington warehouse on Omega South, WA5, reporting to our Employee Relations Lead. This is a permanent, full-time and site-based role, although we’ll support a degree of hybrid working where possible. We can also explore flexible working patterns that work for both you and the business. As our operation runs around the clock, you’ll need some flexibility to support colleagues working nights, including twilight or early-hours shifts.
You’ll play an important role in providing timely, practical and consistent employee relations advice to our managers. From supporting the end-to-end management of ER cases to coaching managers and helping develop our policies, you’ll contribute to fair and consistent people practices across the site. You’ll also have opportunities to work with our wider People Team on projects including organisational change, contract variations and employee engagement.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end ER cases, advising managers on grievances, investigations, disciplinaries, appeals and absence cases in line with employment legislation
- Provide practical advice on employment law and Gousto policies, identifying potential legal risks and helping managers reach fair and consistent outcomes
- Coach and train managers on our people policies and procedures, building their capability to manage people matters effectively
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders, listening to business needs and employee feedback to provide timely ER guidance
- Work with managers to ensure our policies are applied consistently and fairly across the business
- Contribute to the research, development and improvement of People policies and ensure contractual provisions remain fit for purpose
- Use ER data to identify emerging trends and areas that may need further attention or action
- Monitor attendance and work with managers on attendance processes, including signposting relevant wellbeing support and escalating Occupational Health referrals where appropriate
- Contribute to wider People projects, including organisational change, contract variations and employee engagement activity
Who You Are
- You have practical knowledge of UK employment law and employment best practice and keep your knowledge current
- You have experience managing ER cases and can provide clear, pragmatic guidance to managers
- You can explain complex or sensitive information clearly and adapt your communication to different stakeholders
- You can organise and prioritise your workload effectively while managing multiple ER matters
- You can build effective working relationships and guide stakeholders towards fair and consistent outcomes
- You’re comfortable listening to different perspectives and appropriately challenging stakeholders when needed
- You’re motivated to provide a positive employee experience and continue developing your ER knowledge
- You’re comfortable using HR systems and working with data to identify insights and areas for action
- You have strong attention to detail and understand the importance of accurate records, clear audit trails and handling ER documentation in line with GDPR
