Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies (formerly Goodwill Industries of the Conemaugh Valley, incorporated in 1962 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers people with barriers to employment through workforce services in the counties of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Huntingdon, Indiana, Somerset, and a portion of Westmoreland, supported by the sale of donated goods in its 10 Goodwill Retail Stores.
This position will provide supervision and/or hands-on training in work habits and work skills to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment who are receiving services through Goodwill.
Job duties include teaching individuals to perform specific work tasks, good work behaviors, and social behaviors appropriate to a work setting; correcting inappropriate behaviors within program guidelines; assisting in job matching and assessments; facilitating group instruction; and documenting service provision.
Required experience is 6 months of paid or volunteer experience working with people with physical disabilities or older adults.
Requirement is a minimum of high school diploma or GED. An Associate’s Degree or Certification in Human Services or related field is preferred.
You must be able to obtain acceptable results for required background checks, including Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Pennsylvania Criminal History a Department of Public Welfare FBI.You must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, have the ability to multitask effectively and work with little to no supervision. We are looking for someone who can work a flexible schedule, has excellent organization skills, a willingness to learn, who is adaptable to change, possesses the ability to deal professionally with a variety of individuals and possesses excellent problem-solving skills.
