Job Description
Contributes to the mission of Goodwill by leading multiple retail operations. Maximizes store appearance, customer and associate satisfaction, and financial results. Directly supervises assigned retail staff, including store managers, while working across traditional boundaries to maintain consistency and excellence throughout the retail operations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Must support Goodwill’s mission and have the ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships. Must be a leader, be creative, be mature, tactful, patient, and demonstrate the ability to deal with all types of professional and non-professional persons.
- Responsible for achieving budgeted sales and budget net income goals within assigned region.
- Regularly visits store managers and stores to evaluate inventory, appearance, productivity, standards, and to advise store managers on issues that need attention.
- Works with store managers and stores staff to design and implement efficient processing of merchandise received by stores, considering pricing, styles, quality, and salable conditions.
- Utilizes coaching skills to ensure training is reinforced and understood at all levels including store management and staff.
- Compiles accurate donated goods data as requested.
- Reviews and analyzes results achieved, takes steps to improve results and makes recommendations where appropriate.
- Administers the performance review program for assigned area and leads their management team in administering personnel matters including corrective actions and performance improvement plans in accordance with HR procedures.
- Responsible for assigned facilities meeting OSHA and other safety standards as well as the safety of all workers in their charge via implementations of safety procedures of the organization.
- Works with executive staff and Director of Retail to help track, monitor, and provide data that may be necessary for reports such as ASR, CARF, EEOC, etc.
- Leads team training and team building to improve customer service and professional development of assigned staff.
- Interviews, hires, and trains management and key staff in assigned locations.
- Actively participates in management staff meetings, working as a team member to achieve all departmental goals.
- Works with Director of Retail and DGR staff to help store coordinate flow of salvage, donations, and pull from stores to warehouse.
- Assist in identification and development of new retail locations, new goods purchasing and donation acquisition strategies.
- Maintains a positive, team-oriented relationship with peers and supervisors.
- Pursue personal development in all areas of responsibility; sharing knowledge and skills with others.
- Assesses stores with declining performance to identify problem areas and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience required.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience leading production or manufacturing teams and or leading large teams with at least $5 million in revenue preferred.
- Must have valid driver's license and own transportation.
- 90% of time will consist of local travel over five counties in West Virginia.
