Job Description

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Follows all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.
  2. Performs minor building and equipment repairs throughout Goodwill facilities.
  3. Operate all tools in an appropriate, safe and efficient manner, both electric and non-electric, while performing tasks.
  4. Responsible to report to Facilities Repair and Maintenance Supervisor any and all projects/tasks that cannot be repaired in a timely manner.
  5. Maintain daily work and vehicle log as assigned.
  6. Interacts courteously with staff, employees, program participants, customers and donors and provides both internal and external customer service.
  7. Regular attendance is required.
  8. Other duties as assigned (non-essential).

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED:

  1. Must interact cordially and productively with other Goodwill employees, staff, participants, customers, and donors.
  2. Must be able to read and communicate clearly in English.
  3. Must have knowledge and ability to perform maintenance and repair projects.
  4. Ability to engage in prolonged standing and walking.
  5. Ability to engage in frequent bending, stooping, reaching and stretching.
  6. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently.
  7. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  8. Vision corrected to normal range.
  9. Must have valid drivers’s license and be eligible to drive Goodwill-owned vehicles.
  10. Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights and weekends and occasionally long hours.
  11. Ability to function in hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
