Job Description
Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking a Loss Prevention Manager for its retail operations located throughout the northern Illinois area. The Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the organization’s Loss Prevention initiatives including the development of programs and procedures that will aid in the prevention of loss of merchandise while in transit, inside retail stores, within production areas and/or stored in the warehouse. The position is responsible for preventing the loss of equipment and proprietary information, and the training of all staff in loss prevention. This position monitors and oversees security systems for all locations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will preferably have an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field; minimum of five years experience in Retail Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, Corporate Safety, or related field; knowledge of city, county and state penal codes, particularly those laws related to but not limited to shoplifting and arrest; ability to travel to all stores and the warehouse within territory on a regular schedule; ability to make timely and informed decisions and understanding of when to escalate issues; ability to effectively prioritize multiple issues/tasks; sense of urgency in addressing organizational/individual needs; ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality and professionalism; demonstrated high ethical practices with exceptional decision making abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills; functional use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
