About Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley, Inc.:

At Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley, Inc., our mission is to assist individuals with disabilities and other vocational disadvantages to achieve full participation and integration into society through the power of work.  We envision persons with barriers to employment being able to choose rewarding employment, achieve financial security, and build careers and lives for themselves and their families, thus enriching our communities.  Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley has been serving West Virginia communities across 20 counties for over 70 years.  Our mission is carried out through the operation of 16 traditional retail stores, an eCommerce online store, two Prosperity Career Centers, numerous business contract sites, an extensive salvage recycling program, and two additional subsidiaries.  GIKV’s Donated Goods Retail Division has grown by over 400 percent in recent years with the addition of four brand new retail stores and two existing store relocations since 2021, leading our company to be named one of the fastest-growing Goodwill organizations in the country.  GIKV has also welcomed the addition of two new subsidiaries in the past year:  Peak Living Services, which provides transitional housing to veterans and other individuals experiencing homelessness, and SW Resources, an organization that provides vocational services and employment to individuals with disabilities.

At GIKV, 86 cents of every dollar received goes toward funding our mission of delivering job training and related services to those in need.  Last year alone, GIKV provided assistance to over 2,600 individuals throughout our service region via our innovative programs and partnerships.  One such program, known as Wheels to Work, seeks to bridge the transportation gap often felt in rural West Virginia by providing employees and participants the opportunity to apply for assistance in purchasing a vehicle.  We believe that people are our greatest asset here at GIKV, and every day our team works together toward a common goal of meeting people where they are and providing them the resources necessary to improve their lives through the pursuit of gainful employment.  Join us in changing lives, our community, and the future of West Virginia!
