Peak Living Services is a non-profit organization that provides transitional living opportunities to military veterans with residential barriers, as well as to individuals affected by substance abuse, incarceration, and/or homelessness.

Job Description

Under the direction of the program manager, the residential coordinator assists with day-to-day operations of the Peak Living Services Veterans Lifeway Center located in Charleston, WV. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate with the Program Manager for daily operation of the assigned facilities.
  • Monitor assigned facility at all times while on duty to ensure compliance with all residents and visitors with Peak Living Services and programmatic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain open and timely communication with residents which includes introduction of new or any changes to policies and procedures as well as facility operations and resident management.
  • Ensure the intent and practice of all policies and procedures are understood by residents. Follow and enforce all facility guidelines consistently and promptly.
  • Make certain the confidentiality of personal information concerning residents as well as, if necessary, the maintenance of all documentation pertaining to and/or relevant to quality service delivery.
  • Perform intake upon entry of all new or re-entering residents to the assigned location.
  • Under direction of Mission Services staff and the Program Coordinator, assist the unhoused population through information, referral assistance and supportive counseling to support their efforts toward self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain the required daily logs, event/critical incident forms and statistical data, including monitoring and updating of Peak Living Services databases and spreadsheets if requested.
  • Ensure the desk area in maintained in a clean and orderly manner at all times. Perform janitorial duties of the facility as required.
  • Answer telephone calls. Taking messages in appropriate and providing information and referral as necessary.
  • Follow all training on job specific, crisis/stressful situations and vocational areas as well as grant service trainings and requirements.
  • Handle crises on an as needed basis with authority to deliver safe, quick, and decisive action.
  • Understand and promote crisis intervention techniques and proper safety procedures.
  • Help maintain a clean, habitable, healthy and safe environment for staff and residents. Security monitoring of all building areas at predetermined intervals throughout the work shift.
  • Completion of facility laundry during night shift as well as daily chore lists for any shift.
  • Attend and participate in Peak Living Services meetings and other meetings as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have knowledge of community resources, contacts, and programs that will benefit the residents, as well as knowledge of or ability to learn practical building operation.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Beginning rate of pay is $12.00 per hour.
