Goodwill Industries of South Texas, Inc. is a 501c3 charitable organization incorporated in 1948. Goodwill’s territory encompasses 20 counties throughout South Texas. The administrative office is located in Corpus Christi at the Port Avenue facility. In 2015 Goodwill served over 7,300 people throughout South Texas.

Responsible for performing assigned grounds maintenance duties. Perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, etc.

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds

Have knowledge and ability to paint

Must be knowledgeable about relevant safety rules and practices

Must be able to perform assigned grounds maintenance tasks as per contract standards

Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend repetitively, twist and stoop

Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold; depending on season

This is a State Set Aside Contract which requires that employees have a qualifying disabling condition.  This could include disabilities such as:  arthritis, asthma, orthopedic disorders or other visual impairments, lupus, cosmetic disfigurements, HIV/AIDS, Epilepsy, Hepatitis, lung disease, diabetes, head injuries, cancer, substance abuse, heart conditions, mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities, visual or hearing impairments, physical disabilities, and a variety of other disabilities.  Must be able to provide documentation from a third party such as a doctor.

This is a TEMPORARY position to start ASAP, this assignment could extend 1 year or more, depending on the needs of the assignment.  Employees will be employed by and paid by Goodwill Industries of South Texas.  This position is through a state set-aside contract aimed at helping people with disabling conditions find employment.
