Job Description

Scope of position  

Are you someone who excels at forming partnerships and is interested in building the financial wellbeing and capability of people in Indonesia? The role of the Indonesia Program Coordinator is to provide coordination and implementation support for projects that fall under Good Return’s core program areas (primarily Financial Capability, Sustainable & Inclusive Finance, and Access to Finance). In doing so the Indonesia Program Coordinator will coordinate with Good Return team members (particularly technical specialists) to develop partnerships and build partner agencies’ internal capacity in these core programs. The initial focus will be on developing a new partnership for CAFE (Consumer Awareness and Financial Empowerment) Initiative to support financial knowledge, business skills, and money management education. 

The Indonesia Program Coordinator has scope to identify new projects and partnerships. This may include scoping visits, needs assessments, partner capability assessments, as well as stakeholder and donor engagement. Project proposals and project design documents will be developed by the Indonesia Program Coordinator in collaboration with the Asia Regional Manager, the Grants Writer, and other Program Team staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project coordination & support activities for Financial Capability, Sustainable & Inclusive Finance & Access to Finance (60%)

  • Coordinate and support needs assessments and field research activities.
  • Coordinate and support project implementation (e.g. training of trainers, project delivery).
  • Coordinate and support field level monitoring and evaluation activities in coordination with Program Managers and Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Specialist.
  • Support the capacity building of partner organisation staff.
  • Coordinate and support stakeholder management (e.g. partner reporting, donor reporting, meetings to brief stakeholders on project progress/outcomes), including acting as Relationship Lead for designated partners.
  • Coordinate regular project level reporting with support of Program Managers, Impact & Effectiveness Manager and Asia Regional Manager.
  • Implementation of the Good Return Program Manual.
  • Welcome visitors to Indonesia (arrange itinerary, meet & greet, accompany field travel)
  • Provide ad hoc logistic support for visa applications and local travel and accommodation requirements of Good Return team members.

2. Project Development (40%)

  • Conduct scoping visits and needs assessments to determine project and partnership opportunities that align with Good Return’s mission, vision, values and strategy.
  • Promote Good Return’s three core programs (Financial Capability, Sustainable & Inclusive Finance, Access to Finance) in collaboration with the Program Team among potential partners in Indonesia, and conduct the Partner Capacity Assessment and MoU/contract processes to create partnerships with support from Good Return team members.
  • Lead small-scale pilot projects that can demonstrate ‘proof of concept’.
  • Work alongside Asia Regional Manager and other Program Team members to strategically engage funding sources, prepare project proposals and project design documents, as per the Good Return Program Manual.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Financial Service Providers and  Project Partners.

Qualifications

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Essential

  • Indonesian national, fluent in Indonesian.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • 3+ years experience working or volunteering in community development and/or training sector and/or financial sector.
  • University level diploma or degree in business, finance, education, international development or related field.
  • Computer literacy including Google Suite, email, calendar, Zoom, etc.
  • Highly organised with a proactive and positive approach to work.
  • A passion and personal commitment to working towards a world free of absolute poverty.
  • A passion and personal commitment to gender equality. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Indonesia, including remote locations as required.
