Job Description
Scope of Position
The role of the Good Return Nepal Training Coordinator is to provide capacity building, implementation support, curriculum design and development support for Good Returns’ training programs within Nepal and other countries of operation (as needed). This will include identifying ways to digitise the existing CAFE training program, working closely with partner agencies to implement the curricula, and developing ongoing relationships with existing and new partners.
The Training Coordinator will be expected to identify new training solutions and approaches to enhance the CAFE training program, and develop ongoing relationships to expand the delivery of Good Returns’ initiatives to new partners. The Nepal Training Coordinator will complete a range of activities, including field visits, learners needs assessment, training curriculum design, program implementation, and continuous refinement to ensure the Nepalese version of the CAFE curriculum and resources are adapted to meet the context requirements.
The Training Coordinator will also be expected to provide input into project proposals and project design documents in collaboration with the Nepal Country Coordinator, CAFE Program Manager and other Program Team staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Note: The KPIs outlined below are provided as a guide. Specific quarterly targets are to be negotiated with the supervisor.
- Project implementation & support activities for the CAFE Program (50%)
- Manage the successful delivery and implementation of the Nepal CAFE training programs in Nepal.
- Develop and manage the Nepal CAFE work plan and report progress to the Program Manager.
- Provide support, technical assistance, and capacity building to partner institutions. This will include training, coaching, field level implementation, and monitoring and evaluation support.
- Train and manage a network of certified Trainers & Coaches through partner organisations.
- Ensure all trainers have regular and timely access to information, Monitor overall coach/trainer effectiveness, and provide ongoing support to ensure all coaches and trainers have the required capability and confidence.
- Coordinate regular project level reporting with CAFE Program Manager or other team staff for other projects where necessary.
KPIs
- Achievement of CAFE Training program targets (as based on agreed work plan)
- Successful implementation of the CAFE training programs in Nepal - evidenced by indicators such as completion and attendance rates, positive changes in Knowledge & Awareness, Behaviour, Confidence, and Financial wellbeing.
- On time monitoring and reporting of the Nepal CAFE Initiative performance - quarterly project report, monthly status updates, training reports, pre and post assessment activities, learner story of change.
- Comprehensive documentation of CAFE F2F Training, CAFE Digital, and implementation of best practices that worked, challenges, solutions and lessons learned.
2. Curriculum design & development (30%)
- Provide input on the design and refinement of the Training of Trainers approach and on the curricula.
- Support any other trainer capacity development activities related to the Nepal CAFE training programs.
- Consult partners and communities to lead the contextualisation and the design of the CAFE Digital and new curricula for Nepal.
- Support any Nepal contextualisation, design, development and pilot of CAFE curricula in other Good Return operating countries in Asia and the Pacific.
KPIs
- Up to date and contextualised Nepali CAFE materials & resources.
- Targets for Training of Trainers met
- Other trainer capacity development programs are met - evaluation results greater than 3.0
- Curriculum materials/resources/tools reviewed and refinement recommendations fully documented and shared with the CAFE Program Manager
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Technology (15%)
- Support and provide feedback for smooth operation of the CAFE material (curricula, app, digital components).
- Act as a bridge between the field level trainers and technical support providers to ensure all concerns and feedback are addressed in a timely manner.
- Support quantitative and qualitative tool development, and data collection. This includes working closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation (MEL) team to produce quality evaluation reports.
- Support the MEL team to refine/create monitoring and evaluation frameworks, processes and its execution for the Nepal CAFE initiatives.
KPIs
- Trainers and learners are able to use CAFE material
- Qualitative and quantitative data is collected and stored appropriately, including data cleaning and reporting processes.
- Partners and enumerators are supported to conduct high quality surveys and data collection, including baseline and endline surveys, interviews, focus group discussions and other data collection methods, as required.
- High quality reports CAFE Nepal reports produced on an ongoing basis
4. Support Program Development (5%)
- Promote Good Return’s core thematic areas and strategies especially the CAFE Initiative among potential partners and donors in Nepal.
- Conduct scoping visits and needs assessments to determine project and partnership opportunities that align with Good Return’s mission, vision, values and strategy.
- Contribute to concept note or proposal development to form new partnerships and projects.
KPIs
- Contribution to at least 2 concept notes with at least 2 new CAFE partners in Nepal per year.
- Contribute substantially to the development of funding proposal of at least one new funding/donor partner in Nepal per year

Qualifications
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Nepal national, fluent in Nepali.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- 3+ years experience in training and non-formal education in organisational and community level
- Experience in design/development and delivery of training or education curriculum utilising interactive and participatory methodologies and techniques.
- Experience in microfinance, enterprise development, and/or adult education.
- Experience with using technology or multimedia for education and/or awareness building.
- Experience in managing training programs or learning interventions with multiple partners
- Familiarity with financial education, financial literacy or financial capability concepts.
- Passion and commitment to support others learn and adopt new ways of doing things
- A passion and personal commitment to working towards a world free of absolute poverty
- Ability and willingness to travel within Nepal and to other countries of operation as needed.

Location: The role is based full-time in country in Kathmandu, Nepal. The role involves considerable domestic travel, and requires an availability and willingness to spend up to 50% of time traveling within Nepal and Good Return Program countries.
