Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development NGO founded in Korea in 1991 to make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony. Good Neighbors is working in 192 communities in 40 countries with our focus on an inclusive community development approach and child protection. Good Neighbors is working with more than 40 countries worldwide in Africa, America, and Asia.

The organization handles Community Development Projects (CDPs), programs that work with Sponsored programs for vulnerable children and communities, working on sectors for Education and Protection, Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Advocacy, Environment, Network, Income Generation activities, and provides support for Emergency Relief.

Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region is integrated by Chile, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, México, Nicaragua, and Paraguay, working mainly through CDPs for sponsored children and specific sectorial projects. Good Neighbors has developed partnerships with different international organizations and local government institutions. Good Neighbors is looking to strengthen its grant-seeking capacity and potential to increase its actions and presence.

Role
The Grants Writing Coordinator will support the Program Department in all aspects of Grants Acquisition and Management (GAM), including but not limited to identifying fundraising opportunities supporting the proposal development process.

Responsibilities

  • Train and develop capacity building for staff related to grant proposals.
  • Map, seek and research for potential foundations, corporations and entities opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Create and have a donor and project digital database, records, and grant tracking and related reports.
  • Plan and coordinate with partnership countries to develop and present grant proposals in collaboration with relevant staff.
  • Support the proposal development process for identified funding opportunities, working with relevant teams to develop high-quality funding applications. This includes developing narratives, budgets, log frames, and theory of change following funder guidelines.
  • Support the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.
  • Review new grant agreements and/or amendments, be aware of new conditions and terms, and share important points with related staff.
  • Ensure correct filing of original grant agreements and relevant grant documents.
  • Collaboration with directors and staff to support and gather information for monitoring, evaluation, and communications for donor reporting and compliance.

 

Requisitos

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social development, economics, or related field
  • 2+ years of work experience in fundraising or business development in a global development context.
  • 2-3 years working experience in grant writing. (desirable for Latin America)
  • Good comprehension of Latin America and Caribbean countries and local context.
  • Excellent external communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading or supporting successful grant applications.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish. (verbal and written)
  • Capacity building and coaching skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work in a facilitative, participatory, and collaborative manner.
  • Ability to work independently, well organized to work with multiple projects at the same time.

Contract Details
Good Neighbors in LAC has multiple time zones and working hours with flexibility on working hours; however, it is necessary to adjust availability.

  • Job Location: Remote - working from home and occasionally traveling to LAC countries. (Applicants located in Latin America, USA or Canada)
  • Starting Date: 15th October 2023
  • Contract Type: Part-time, One year under Good Neighbors Guatemala; with the possibility of extension.
  • Hours: 25 hours per week (can be adjusted working day based on the grant calls)
  • Salary range: US$ 20,000 - $24,000 yearly compensation.
  • Reporting to: LAC RO Senior Officer and Regional Coordinator.

● Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
