Job Description

The Volunteer Program Manager reports to the Ministry Director and provides overall support, management and vision to the Volunteer Program, which currently comprises approximately 2,500 volunteers and responds to more than 3,000 contacts per day. The Volunteer Program represents more than 70% of the ministry’s seeker interactions, and thus has significant impact on overall ministry results.

The Volunteer Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the volunteer and staff groups serving our seekers operate effectively and efficiently at all times. They must maintain a high level of seeker satisfaction, and the ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude with seekers, volunteers and colleagues is essential. The Volunteer Program Manager is responsible for hiring, managing, training, scheduling and leading the volunteer team, as well as overseeing strategies for connecting with seekers across platforms. The Volunteer Program Manager must be capable of using software programs for connecting to seekers, managing their profiles and reporting. The Volunteer Program Manager oversees the response statistics and takes proactive and reactive steps to improve those statistics as needed. Additionally, the Volunteer Program Manager helps provide guidance and training to volunteers and staff to improve performance.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

·    Manage the Volunteer Care Coordinator and Discipleship Coordinator

·    Develop and manage budget for volunteer team

·    Manage the volunteer team following Global Media Outreach policies and guidelines

·    Maintain regular communications with volunteers and respond within 24 hours to internal communications

·    Implement and maintain training for all volunteers

·    Develops, implements and audits policies and procedures related to flow of information and systems used within the operation

·    Establish standards of performance for the operation and management of volunteers to achieve performance standards

·    Manage day-to-day activities within the operation, which deals directly with seekers and is first point of contact

·    Manage and maintain KPIs and recruitment plans

·    Manage and maintain all administrative tasks within the team in the current system

·    Pray regularly for the entire volunteer team

·    From time to time convene other volunteer leaders to discuss best practices in cross-cultural contexts

·    Oversee cross-functional work areas targeted to resolve issues raised by seekers

 

 

Job Requirements and Skills

 

·    Fluency in English, written and verbal

·    Ability to work in a team oriented environment with Global Media Outreach staff and volunteers

·    Ability to identify and confront issues and to work towards solutions and restoration in a timely manner with grace and strength

·    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and detailed oriented while demonstrating Christ-like character

·    Strong planning, organizational, administrative, and time management skills, ability to take initiative, recognize opportunities, make improvements, implement solutions, and oversee the process

·    Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance

·    Ability to see and accept problems as challenges and opportunities for growth and development

·    Work independently with minimal or no supervision and be self-motivated

·    Availability to be "on call" for work-related emergencies

·    Ability to work with standard technology programs such as Microsoft Office (including Excel)

·    Ability to learn how to use new software platforms for communicating with seekers

 

Qualifications

 

·    A heart for God and a desire to help and teach others

·    A growing relationship with Jesus Christ for a minimum of five years.  All employees must agree with our Statement of Faith.

·    Management and/or project management experience preferred

·    Intermediate computer skills

·    Ability to develop and manage budgets

·    Ability to learn and master new computer applications and Internet related functions

·    BA or BS degree preferred but not required

·    Supervisory and interpersonal relationship experience

·    Related work experience that demonstrates broad understanding of volunteer strategy and processes preferred but not required

Call center management experience would be a bonus
