Summary:

In this dynamic position, you will serve as the primary provider of IT support to the growing, technology-driven Houston office.  You will be exposed to multiple IT disciplines including Windows Workstation, Windows Server, MS Exchange, Linux, switches, and telecommunications.  The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of PC Hardware, desktop operating systems, and network functionality.  The Systems Support Engineer is the principal owner of service requests as well as the customer’s overall satisfaction.  In instances where a call cannot be resolved independently, appropriate escalation processes should be followed.  Duties of this role include:

-Act as a point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance in Windows and Linux environment.
-Effectively use remote assistant tools, knowledge base, and other tools to diagnose and resolve PC hardware and software issues both in Houston and remotely.
-Manage deployment and installation of PCs and software and tending to all adds, moves, and changes.
-Appropriately document all required information in call tracking system.
-Diligently create and maintain knowledgebase as appropriate.
-Exercise appropriate workflow and time management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

-At minimum, a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
-1-3 years of experience in an IT-related field.
-Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills demonstrating responsiveness, resourcefulness, and follow through.
-Proficiency with troubleshooting and resolving problems pertaining to Windows 7 workstation connectivity, MS Office, and malware.
-Experience in administering accounts and policies in an Active Directory environment.
-Familiarity with common IP networking technologies and troubleshooting techniques.


Additional Preferred Qualifications Include:

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related field.
-Basic knowledge of Linux architecture.
-Ability to script in Powershell.
-Proficiency with Linux Asterisk.
-Understanding of VOIP technology and its application.
-MCSE Certification.
