We remain as determined as ever to be the best it’s possible to be.

About the team: Energy, Resources and Infrastructure – Construction

G+T’s Energy, Resources and Infrastructure team advises on complex projects and transactions across the mining, oil and gas and renewable energy sectors. We support clients across the full project lifecycle - from acquisition and development through to operations and divestment.

In this role, you will work closely with Partner George Varma, who specialises in construction and brings more than 20 years’ experience advising developers, contractors and financiers on complex cross-border projects across the Asia-Pacific and Africa.

George has particular expertise in renewable energy projects, including wind, solar and battery, as well as energy and resources and major transport and infrastructure assets. He advises on project structuring, procurement and the negotiation of construction and commercial contracts across large-scale developments.

About you

We're open to applications from both mid-level and senior lawyers with relevant experience who are interested in working on complex construction and infrastructure matters across the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors. You enjoy working in a team environment and building strong client relationships.

In addition, you will have:

  • Experience in construction and projects, with exposure to front-end construction and commercial contracts
  • Experience in mining or energy and infrastructure sectors (preferred), or a strong interest in working across both
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to work effectively with clients and across teams

What we offer

G+T will offer you a supportive and professional working environment. In addition to top of market remuneration, we provide our people with benefits such as up to 26 weeks’ paid parental leave, additional annual leave, ‘end-of-trip facilities’, exclusive retail discounts, social events, and much more, which you can view here: http://bit.ly/GTFLYER

Our Perth office is located in Brookfield Place, the city's most prestigious commercial precinct. Among many other benefits, we provide complimentary breakfast on Mondays, and lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays for our people. We value the contributions that our people make to our ongoing DE+I initiatives, and there are many opportunities for engagement across all practice areas of the Perth office through various team-building initiatives and cross-practice collaboration.
