About Disputes and Investigations
Our Disputes and Investigations group excels at guiding clients through complex and high-stakes commercial disputes. Janet Whiting, head of G+T’s Disputes and Investigations practice in Melbourne, is one of Australia’s pre-eminent commercial litigators, renowned for her strategic advice, detailed analysis and ability to secure commercial outcomes. Working alongside Janet is Christiana McCudden, another accomplished litigation partner whose dedication and expertise further enhance the team’s capabilities. The team has been instrumental in a number of successful actions that have set landmark legal precedents. Most recently, Dan Moloney has joined the partnership, bringing significant experience in class actions, regulatory disputes and commercial litigation, further strengthening the breadth and depth of expertise within the group

About you
As our ideal candidate, you will be a high-performing and motivated litigation lawyer with a genuine passion for resolving complex, high-stakes disputes. You thrive under pressure, are motivated by intellectually challenging work and are committed to delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where excellence is recognised and rewarded.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- two years’ plus post-admission experience, with a solid grounding in broad commercial litigation matters
- demonstrated and meaningful court exposure – this is essential. You will have appeared in court and be confident managing matters through various stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings, preparing evidence, briefing counsel and managing hearing processes
- strong analytical and legal reasoning skills, with the ability to grasp complex legal and commercial issues quickly
- excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including the ability to engage effectively with clients, counsel and stakeholders
- a collaborative mindset with the flexibility to work independently and contribute positively within a team-oriented environment
