About Our Disputes and Investigations Group
Gilbert + Tobin is the firm of choice when the stakes are high. Our lawyers have been, and continue to be, involved in Australia’s most high-profile commercial disputes, investigations and inquiries. Our experienced team provides sophisticated and strategic litigation and dispute resolution services across a broad range of areas such as “bet the company” litigation and investigations, class actions, Royal Commissions and other inquiries, major commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, high-profile litigation on cutting edge technological and legal issues.
This role sits within a practice headed by partners Marshall McKenna, Tim O’Leary, Patrick Tydde and Lauren Shave, a leading disputes + investigations practice in Western Australia.
The team resolves complex disputes for mining, energy and infrastructure clients, and advises on critical land access issues such as native title, environment and planning. It is a foremost advisor on corporate restructuring matters, disputes over high-value private trusts, and regulatory investigations.
About you
You are a motivated legal professional with around 2-3 years’ post-admission experience, looking to be part of a collaborative and high-performing team. You thrive on complexity, are a strong communicator, and value the opportunity to contribute to important and high-stakes matters.
You will ideally bring:
- Broad experience in commercial litigation and/or regulatory disputes
- Exposure to, or a strong interest in, native title, land access, environmental or administrative law
- Exceptional analytical and drafting skills
- A team-first mindset and ability to work independently when needed
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted client relationships
