About Ventures and Startups

Ventures and Startups is Gilbert + Tobin’s specialist practice group working with early-stage and emerging growth companies. The team acts for many of Australia’s most exciting startups and scale-ups across industries including artificial intelligence, climate tech, deep tech, fintech and SaaS.

As G+T’s specialist venture capital transactions team, we also regularly advise local and foreign venture capital funds, family offices, sovereign wealth funds and other investors on their investments in early-stage and emerging growth companies.

About you

As our successful candidate, you will have:

• At least four years of experience in venture capital or private mergers and acquisitions
• A demonstrated interest in the startup space and venture capital industry (experience working on venture capital deals is desirable but not required)
• A desire to work on dynamic transactions with founders, startups and venture capital firms (VCs)
• Strong drafting and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work directly with clients
• The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
