Job Description
We are looking for a Legal Writer to provide services to our Immigration Practice Group. This is an independent contractor position working remotely and independently. Writing assignments require creative thinking, technical writing and editing. The firm offers competitive flat fees per assignment, based on experience.
The assignments will include the following:
- Drafting and/or editing letters and testimonials prepared by clients and legal staff to support legal arguments based on evidence, factual research and reference materials.
- Reviewing technical and scientific materials and evidence provided by firm clients and drafting clear and concise summaries.
- Organizing and maintaining records of research, evidence in support of petitions or applications, and reference materials used to prepare writing assignments.
- Drafting support letters for employment-based immigration petitions for Aliens of Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Researchers and National Interest Waivers
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a 4-year degree, experience in legal or technical writing, with strong analytical and research skills. Immigration and/or law firm experience is a plus.
Additional Information
This is an Independent Contractor role. The Independent Contractor will have the right to accept or reject individual assignments and may provide services for other entities. When applying, please include a cover letter, writing sample and a Word/PDF copy of your resume.
At the commencement of each assignment, we will provide a purchase order that sets forth the scope of the work and the compensation you will receive. The hourly rate will be between $38-$53/hour.
