Job Description

Giant Pictures/Drafthouse Films is seeking a Metadata & Rights Contractor. The ideal candidate will possess advanced Excel skills, at least 2 years of experience working with entertainment rights management, metadata and large data sets. Great opportunity for someone who is technically skilled, detail and process-oriented

Responsibilities:

  • Rights management system (Molten)
    • Recording information on rights in and rights out agreements, sometimes on a large scale
    • Metadata clean-up of existing titles in catalog, which includes research and multi-row data ingests
    • Uploading of metadata on new titles that are currently onboarding
  • Project management system (Smartsheet)
    • Cleaning up existing data within system, including making corrections, providing clarity, and deleting duplicates where needed
    • Creating new rows to help manage project management system 
  • Sales support
    • Using search criteria within rights management system to publish and export avails for use by the sales team
    • Use of pivot tables created from data from project management system
    • Contact management and clean-up in CRM system (Zoho CRM)
    • Using advanced Excel skills to sort, filter, vlookup, and trim where needed to arrive at clean and easy-to-read documents
    • Using further Excel skills to deftly and accurately move around columns and data to fit into a platform’s avail template where needed
    • Ad hoc large spreadsheet clean-up and file re-organization  
  • Revenue data analysis
    • Downloading and analyzing revenue reports
    • Comparisons of revenue data in title detail and over time, often on a very large scale
    • Providing analyses where needed, focusing on performance of genres, ratings, new releases vs. catalog, TVOD vs. EST, date of upload, etc.
  • Freely and transparently communicating and collaborating with sales, legal, and content departments
  • Willingness to learn and undertake additional department duties as required

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of entertainment rights management, metadata experience required
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong ability to follow directions, work unsupervised, at a fast pace in a calm and collected manner
  • Ability to troubleshoot and act as a critical thinker

Additional Information

Compensation:  $21-$26 per hour, depending on experience. Approximately 20 hours per week.
