Job Description
- Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and tender documents.
- Assist in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions.
- Review HVAC, mechanical, piping and MEP drawings to determine material and labour requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare comparison statements and support subcontractor selection.
- Verify subcontractor invoices, progress claims and completed quantities.
- Assist in preparing client invoices and monthly payment applications.
- Monitor project costs against the approved budget.
- Maintain records of variations, additional works and change orders.
- Assist in preparing variation claims with proper supporting documents.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, contracts and site teams.
- Participate in site measurements and verify actual work completed.
- Maintain commercial records, material reconciliation reports and cost reports.
- Support the preparation of project forecasts and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, HVAC, MEP or industrial construction projects is preferred.
Additional Information
- UAE or GCC project experience will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of contracts, BOQs, variations and payment certification.
- Ability to read HVAC, mechanical, piping and MEP drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, estimation software or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Good numerical, analytical, communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with site and project teams.
