Job Description

The Product Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing assigned chemical product portfolios, providing technical and commercial support to customers, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth. The role requires strong knowledge of chemical raw materials, applications, market trends, and customer requirements.

 

  • Develop and grow sales of assigned chemical products, including Epoxy, Resins, Pigments, Dyes, Solvents, Emulsions, and other coating raw materials.
  • Identify and develop new customers, distributors, manufacturers, and business opportunities.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
  • Understand customer formulations, applications, technical requirements, and product specifications.
  • Provide technical product presentations, product recommendations, and application support to customers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers for technical queries, samples, trials, and product approvals.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and support customer trials where required.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, demand, and new product developments.
  • Prepare and maintain product information, technical data, product presentations, and commercial proposals.
  • Work closely with the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Generate quotations and coordinate with internal teams for order processing and delivery.
  • Follow up on customer enquiries, samples, trials, and pending orders.
  • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within the existing customer base.
  • Attend customer meetings, industry exhibitions, seminars, and technical events.
  • Collect market intelligence and provide regular feedback to management.
  • Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure product availability and competitive pricing.
  • Support the development and launch of new chemical products in the Indian market.
  • Ensure timely submission of sales reports, customer visit reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Paint Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant technical or commercial experience in the chemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of chemical raw materials and their industrial applications.
  • Good knowledge of the coatings, paints, adhesives, inks, plastics, or related industries will be an advantage.
  • 3–7 years of experience in chemical raw materials, specialty chemicals, coatings, paints, or related industries.
  • Experience in B2B technical sales, product management, or business development is preferred.
  • Experience dealing with manufacturers, formulators, distributors, and industrial customers will be an advantage

Additional Information

  • Good computer skills (MS Office)
  • Knowledge of CRM software would be a plus

Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales.
  • Prior rExperience as a sales coordinator or in other administrative positions will be considered a plus
