Job Description

  • Assist Insulators in the installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of thermal, acoustic, and fireproof insulation systems.
  • Support insulation activities on piping, vessels, tanks, equipment, ducts, and associated components.
  • Carry insulation materials, tools, and equipment to and from work locations.
  • Assist in measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting insulation materials under the guidance of Insulators.
  • Support the installation of metal cladding, jacketing, and protective coverings.
  • Help remove damaged or deteriorated insulation during maintenance and shutdown activities.
  • Prepare work areas by cleaning surfaces and removing debris before insulation work begins.
  • Load, unload, sort, and store insulation materials in designated locations.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping standards in work areas, workshops, and storage locations.
  • Assist in the erection and inspection of work access arrangements as directed.
  • Handle hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and supervisor directives.
  • Participate in construction, maintenance, turnaround, shutdown, and commissioning activities.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and damaged equipment to supervisors.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and stored properly after use.
  • Support material inventory checks and assist with stock handling activities when required.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve project schedules and productivity targets.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the Supervisor or Foreman.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role, preferably in oil and gas construction projects.
  •  Basic understanding of electrical systems, tools, and materials; familiarity with insulation activities.
  •  Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow instructions to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with electricians, supervisors, and other crew members.
  • High school  or relevant technical training is preferred.
