Job Purpose:

Safely move and position heavy objects or equipment using rigging techniques and equipment. Ensuring the proper lifting, securing, and transportation of loads, while adhering to safety regulations and following rigging plans to facilitate efficient and successful operations in construction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspect and assess equipment and materials to determine appropriate rigging methods and equipment required for lifting and moving operations.
• Set up and assemble rigging equipment, such as cranes, hoists, and pulleys, ensuring their proper functioning and safety.
• Attach and secure loads to rigging equipment using ropes, chains, slings, or other appropriate devices, ensuring stability and weight distribution.
• Direct and communicate with crane operators or other personnel involved in lifting operations to ensure safe and coordinated movements.
• Monitor and control the movement of loads during lifting operations, using hand signals or communication devices, and make necessary adjustments to maintain stability and safety.

High School
