Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Fire Warden is responsible for ensuring the safety of individuals and property within a specific area or building in the event of a fire or emergency. They will be tasked with implementing fire safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, raising awareness about fire hazards, and coordinating emergency evacuations and responses to mitigate risks and protect the well-being of occupants.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct Regular Inspections:

Perform routine inspections of designated areas to identify potential fire hazards.

Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.

Maintain fire prevention measures and take necessary corrective actions.

Raise Awareness about Fire Safety:

Educate workers about fire safety protocols, evacuation procedures, and the proper use of fire extinguishers.

Emphasize the importance of keeping clear escape routes and emergency exits.

Monitor and Enforce Fire Safety Policies:

Ensure that fire doors are kept closed and unobstructed at all times.

Verify that fire alarm systems are fully functional and tested regularly.

Check that fire extinguishers are properly maintained, charged, and easily accessible.

Coordinate and Conduct Fire Drills:

Organize and lead regular fire drills to familiarize workers with evacuation routes and assembly points.

Evaluate the effectiveness of evacuation procedures and make improvements as needed.

Respond to Fire Incidents and Emergencies:

Act promptly and effectively in the event of a fire or emergency.

Initiate immediate evacuation measures to ensure the safety of all occupants.

Contact emergency services and provide accurate information about the situation.

Offer assistance and support to individuals in need until professional help arrives.

Collaborate with Emergency Response Teams:

Liaise with on-site emergency response teams and local fire departments.

Coordinate efforts to address potential fire hazards and improve emergency response plans.

Maintain Records and Documentation:

Keep detailed records of fire safety inspections, drills, and maintenance activities.

Document any fire incidents, responses, and actions taken for future reference and improvement.

Stay Informed and Updated:

Remain up-to-date with current fire safety regulations and best practices.

Participate in relevant training programs to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; additional fire safety certifications.

Additional Information
