Job Description

Job Purpose:

As we look to expand our global partnerships, we are looking for a BD expert in the Pharma distribution domain in Europe. The primary objective of this role will be bringing in new principles, partners and more that are looking to enter the ME market.

The job holder is responsible for the identification and implementation inorganic growth opportunities through the acquisition of new pharmaceutical / life sciences portfolios that are aligned with the growth strategy of the business. He/She will support the company with research and market intelligence to fine-tune the organization’s growth strategy and adjust it to changing market trends and ad hoc opportunities.

The job holder with be required to work in a different geographic location than the business.

Job Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence and Planning

  • Stay informed about the latest market and industry trends locally and globally and its implications on the company’s growth strategy
  • Support the formulation of the company’s strategic growth plan and facilitate business enhancing decisions
  • Ensure alignment of AEC business unit strategies with the overall company objectives and priorities

Business Development

  • Attend local and global industry functions, association events, conferences, etc. to stay informed about the latest market and industry trends and identify new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders such as regulators, manufacturers, key opinion leaders, etc.
  • Identify, assess, and attract new business partners with products, brands, or entire portfolios that are aligned with the strategic growth plans of the company
  • Prepare business cases including detailed market entry plans and financial projections for selected opportunities
  • Negotiate contractual terms with new business partners

Qualifications

  • University Degree / Diploma in Pharmacy or a related scientific specialty
  • Post-Graduate in Marketing / Business Administration is desirable.

Additional Information

  • 10-15 years’ experience in commercial roles in the Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences Industry
  • Well-established network within the global life sciences industry
  • Business development experience is an advantage
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
