To install new street lighting furniture, wire up and set working to appropriate specifications and to meet current electrical installation standards. Undertake electrical testing of street lighting installations, complete and report required paper records and or record electronically on hand held devices.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair street light systems, including lamps, ballasts, photocells, and related electrical components.
• Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify and resolve problems, such as wiring issues, defective components, and faulty connections.
• Test, repair, and replace faulty equipment and components, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and fuses.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment and adjusting settings.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations when working with electricity and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and installations.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical technology

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a technical training program in electrical technology or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintaining and repairing street lighting systems.

• Strong knowledge of electrical principles and safety procedures
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience with testing equipment, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
