Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • The Sales & Operation Engineer should be engineering graduate (BE – mechanical, electrical, chemical, petroleum etc.) with a minimum five years’ experience in oil & gas sector, should be able to travel throughout Iraq mainly Basra region to develop the business for the company.
  • Should build a strong relationship with all customers, must have knowledge and experience of IRAQ Oil & Gas fields, Utilities and other process industries and a wide knowledge on marketing strategies with a strong leadership to coordinate between the customers and the company.
  • Develop the self-understanding & create opportunities in Process Automation, Control Systems and Mechanical Package Solutions for oil/gas, power, petrochemical, cement industry, in innovative ways to identify and meet Sales goals across Basra Region.
  • Develop and expand market share for the company.
  • Should be able to support other teams/projects as are reasonably required of your job role even where these fall outside your own department/team.

Job Responsibilities

Overall responsibilities:

  • Should develop the business and build a strong relationship with all local customers’ i.e. International oil companies, state owned companies, local contractors, refineries & power plants.
  • Should develop the marketing strategies with a strong leadership to coordinate between the customers and the functional teams within the organization. 
  • Should promote & sell the company products.
  • Must have basic products knowledge i.e. mechanical / process / electrical / instrumentation / automation & possible solution.
  • Expected to support other teams & projects as per company requirement and given assignment / daily task.
  • Ability to meet new customers and get the RFQs/tender related to company portfolio.
  • Arrange sales meetings with procurement & project teams of customer’s organization.
  • Having sales approach, you should be working with bid team, engineering team, prepare & submit the quotations to customer or perform duties as assigned by line manager.
  • You should be doing follow up for orders and payments on company behalf.
  • Proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities for the company to increase the revenue.
  • Should be flexible to handle any task assigned by company, with 30-50 % business travel in Iraq and mainly for Basra region.
  • Good positive attitude with passion of doing new things and continuous learning.
  • Keep the records of local travel, business meetings, any company official / government related matter.
  • Attend the calls and customer visits, and prepare daily reporting for the management.

 

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Plan to ensure achievement of personal target, aligning with company sales policies and strategies.
  • Sell to existing and potential clients as well as provide sales support to distribution partners to participate in closing and order or to facilitate and add value to the selling process.
  • Develop, maintain and execute the Iraq regional sales plan.
  • Build and maintain company’s client relationships.
  • Work with internal departments such as Marketing or Bid teams to engage audiences and clients.
  • Proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities.
  • Solve problems for clients by developing innovative and tailored sales solutions.
  • Be a brand ambassador and reflect company values at all times.
  • Maintain data relative to partners, clients and activities and will document customer interactions in the CRM.
  • Develop and maintain influential relationships with assigned companies at all levels in Oil & Gas, Utilities and process industries segment in IRAQ.
  • Contributes information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from accounts.
  • Recommends new products and services by evaluating current product results and identifying needs to be filled.
  • Identify new prospects and sales leads.
  • Negotiate contracts and closing of sales orders by line manager instructions.
  • Prepare daily reporting.
  • Provide technical support on service jobs and follow up on warranty jobs.
  • Attend customer calls and record the log book.

Admin assistance / deliveries within Iraq.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (BE – mechanical, electrical, chemical, petroleum etc.)

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience level: 5+ years in the field of Process Automation & Control System and Mechanical package solutions
  • 3+ years’ experience in sales and/or business development
  • Experience in extensive travel in region
  • HSE understanding and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Good Microsoft office capabilities

Additional Information

Skills & Professional Requirements:

Need to have and maintain (with regular training and updates as necessary) the knowledge, technical skills and qualifications that are necessary to perform the role to comply with the requirements of the organisation and any applicable rules, regulations (particularly of any professional body).

Preferable with an existing commercial network within the region in the Energy Sector (Oil& Gas, Utilities and process Industries is a must), a good understanding of commercial management, requirements and dynamics.
