Job Description
As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting injection molding machines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role plays a key part in keeping operations running smoothly while supporting continuous improvement and teamwork.
Responsibilities
Set up, start up, and operate injection molding machines to produce quality plastic parts.
Change out molds, complete setups, and perform basic mold repairs as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues to minimize downtime.
Monitor and maintain support equipment such as dryers, loaders, and color feeders.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Perform routine mold cleaning and keep accurate process documentation.
Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing corrective actions.
Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to maintain quality and efficiency.
Participate in 5S activities and line clearances.
Assist with process validation, equipment specifications, and improvement projects as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate’s degree in manufacturing or plastics a plus.
2+ years of experience working in injection molding or a similar production environment.
Hands-on knowledge of operating, setting up, and troubleshooting injection molding machines.
Basic understanding of process improvement and production workflows.
Comfortable using computer systems such as MES, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn technical processes quickly.
Familiarity with quality checks and following standard operating procedures.
Problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Additional Information
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding.
- A working knowledge and experience with injection molding and ancillary equipment
- A working knowledge of a wide range of thermoplastic materials and their properties
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with injection molding machines and robots
- clean room working environment
- 12 hour shift work is required on a 2:2:3 basis
