Gerresheimer Peachtree City L.P. was established in 1993 in Peachtree City, GA, as part of the Plastics & Devices Division manufacturing and assembling a variety of precision molded plastic parts for various applications in the medical industry. The subsidiary operates in an 132 K sq. ft. production facility with 200 employees.
Job Description
- Implement and continuously develop factory planning for series start-ups, project expansions, transfer projects, and efficiency improvement measures (e.g., technology, methods, processes), with a strong focus on intralogistics planning.
- Define technical standardization for production resources and planning processes, prioritizing intralogistics processes and equipment.
- Conceptualize, evaluate, and implement innovation projects and technological advancements, emphasizing intralogistics processes.
- Define and ensure the fulfillment of technical specifications tailored to the respective applications.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and budget targets for assigned work packages, including the setting and monitoring of individual and departmental goals via annual appraisals.
- Partially responsible for creating and managing plant-related staging and storage requirements overviews.
- Conduct technical offer reviews, offer comparisons, cost-benefit analyses, design approvals, and technical acceptances.
- Contribute to the simulation of intralogistics processes to optimize provisioning and storage space requirements, identifying bottlenecks and necessary buffers.
- Participate in the qualification of intralogistics systems in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Partially responsible for standardizing project-related and cross-project planning processes based on lean principles (e.g., requirement and functional specifications, overviews, calculations, process steps, standard values, graphical layouts in CAD).
- Assist in managing global equipment standards within the area of responsibility, including defining equipment, conducting test and pilot phases, managing interfaces, documentation, approvals, training, and updates.
Qualifications
- A (technical) university degree in fields such as mechatronics, plastics technology, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, medical technology, or a related technical or economic discipline, complemented by at least 2 years of professional experience, preferably in the industrial sector.
- 2-3 years of experience in a technical environment with a focus on intralogistics, production planning, and project management.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience working with manufacturers and service providers for intralogistics solutions.
- 2-3 years of experience in automation technology and data networking within logistics processes (e.g., warehouse systems and management, transport systems, AGVs).
- 2-3 years of experience in optimizing and documenting logistics processes.
- 2-3 years of experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MES platforms (e.g., Guardus).
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), with VBA programming in Excel being a plus.
- Knowledge of product start-ups, product transfers, and change management processes.
- Familiarity with the validation processes for medical and pharmaceutical products.
- Willingness to travel as required.
