Job Description

Working hours: 40 hours per week, full attendance at the school.

The Sports Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of sports activities and programs at the school. He/She works closely with teachers, students, and external sports providers to ensure a comprehensive sports offering that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and the spirit of fair play. The goal is to build and develop competitive sports teams in collaboration with PE teachers and CCA providers. The Sports Coordinator is also responsible for the strategic development and operational management of the DISD afternoon sports program and co-curricular activities (CCAs) outside the regular curriculum.

  • Strategic development and operational management of the DISD afternoon sports program and co-curricular activities (CCAs) outside the regular curriculum. This includes Sports and non-Sport Activities.
  • Building and developing competitive teams in all sports in collaboration with PE teachers and CCA providers.
  • Conducting physical education lessons (up to 16 teaching hours) and close cooperation with the PE teachers.
  • Planning, organization, and administration of the DISD ASA program for all sports activities, including contract negotiations, planning, controlling, etc.
  • Building close relationships and strategic alliances with various community members and groups, including sponsors inside and outside the UAE.
  • Planning, organization, and execution of competitions (both external and internal).
  • Marketing sports activities in collaboration with the DISD marketing team.
  • Implementing and managing uniform policies, procedures, and standards for participation in sports and physical activities, such as health and safety guidelines.
  • Budget responsibility.
  • Managing the entire inventory of sports equipment and materials, including planning for replacements.
  • Conceptual implementation of recess sports, including supervision.

Qualifications

  • A completed degree (Master's or BA) in Physical Education or a related field is required. A teaching qualification for high schools is necessary.
  • Experience in organizing and conducting sports events and programs.
  • In-depth knowledge in the areas of training theory, sports pedagogy, and health.
  • Detailed knowledge in sports education for young people, as well as proven experience in sports administration and marketing.
  • Experience in teaching physical education to children aged 6 to 18.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to resolve conflicts.
  • High level of initiative, organizational skills, and flexibility.
  • must be either English OR German native speaker
  • Willingness to work outside regular school hours, especially during sports events and competitions.
  • Already located in UAE preferred.

Compensation follows the school's applicable salary guidelines and includes additional benefits such as health insurance, housing allowance, flight allowance, and an end-of-contract gratuity.
