The German International School Dubai is a rapidly growing private school under the aegis of the School Association "Deutsche Internationale Schule Dubai", funded by the Federal Republic of Germany (Central Agency for German Schools Abroad in Cologne) both in terms of personnel and financially. It covers grades 1 to 12.

Attached is a German Kindergarten with integrated Pre-school.

Job Description

The role holder will be responsible for handling all government procedures and activities to ensure that the German International School Dubai is compliant with the UAE regulations & systems. This includes but not limited to working with Immigration, MOHRE, MOFA, KHDA, CDA and other relevant government departments. Someone who will manage government relations transactions, documentations and communications with the aim of ensuring compliance with law and regulations. The General School Manager serves as the school`s principal liaison to officials at all levels. Furthermore, the scope of responsibilities covers School financial results, legal and all IT related matters.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage school strategy for strengthening relationships with various Ministries and Government entities
  • Work with the school leadership to identify priority legislative and government relations issues for the school
  • Continuously review systems, procedures and practices to increase efficiency and performance
  • Responsible for all finance and accounting processes, lead and manage all statutory and reporting requirements, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management and taxation
  • Exert strong influence and leadership over results of the school and functional departments, with emphasis on efficiency and cost management
  • Collaborate on all operational and strategic issues; provide recommendations based on projections and data; oversee compliance and reporting
  • Identify and exert strong influence to implement innovative and continuous improvement processes and IT systems to drive quality assurance in the school
  • Act as the representative of the school on all non-academic matters

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a managing position
  • A Bachelor’s degree; Master degree will be an advantage
  • Professional experience in Dubai and strong knowledge of UAE Laws
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Strong financial and business development skills
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, persuasive and collaborative skills
  • Effective communication skills in English and Arabic; German is an advantage
  • Good understanding of protocols and procedures to be compliant with UAE regulations and requirements
  • Confident with MS Office
  • Problem solving and dispute settling skills

The tax-free remuneration is based on the salary guidelines applicable to the school and includes additional benefits such housing allowance, an annual flight allowance and end of service gratuity.
