Job Description
The Customs Analyst role is pivotal in the day-to-day execution of cross border shipments and duty avoidance. Acting as the primary liaison between vendors, government agencies, and customs agencies, they are directly responsible for preparing & maintaining documentation, minimizing shipment delays at border crossings, and providing intercompany support as needed. Additionally, the Customs Analyst is encouraged to practice their due diligence with regards to making decisions that are in compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements. The ideal candidate has several years’ worth of experience with customs-related work, is familiar with standard shipment documentation & processes, has experience working with free trade agreements. The candidate makes it a personal priority to stay abreast of the consistently evolving international trade landscape.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Client (cross-functional supply chain, business development, R&D, sales, regulatory representative) regularly via import feasibility assessments, trade regulatory updates, and etc.
- Coordinate with clients on import/export requirements, tariff system, and other customs related matter.
- Main liaison for Client and government agency relating to imported goods.
- HTS Classification and FTA assessments.
- Participating in special projects as needed.
- Daily interaction with customs broker to resolve any issues or non-compliance arising from pre or post customs clearance. Facilitate resolution and make decisions regarding trade compliance issues that arises in connection of Client’s business activities and operations.
- Record keeping and performing audits. Perform investigation resulting from deviation of audit standard from trade compliance and develop corrective action. Build recommendations to provide the client with improvement opportunities.
- Continuously develop and implement business procedures, standardized practices, and internal controls to ensure customs compliance with new, existing, or updated regulations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2 years’ experience in Customs-related work, international supply chain
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (esp. Excel / Powerpoint)
- Experience in SAP
- Prior analytics and project leadership experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and social skills.
- Tolerance for ambiguity and change.
