Reporting to the Sales Director this role is responsible for operating in the Grocery Channel, where you will be responsible for the specific Customer Business Unit.
Responsible for delivering the account plan targets set by the business with specific focus on £NS, £GM, gm%, TP absolute and TP% as per objectives and driving General Mills share of the categories within which we operate.
In addition this role will be critical in driving execution within the Customer Business unit to ensure General Mills brands and NPD launches achieve the distribution and visibility levels which is targeted.
Focused on working cross functionally to deliver a long term customer strategy, you will be a prominent Senior Sales leader and a member of the Sales & Wider Business Leadership Teams.
You will be responsible for defining the customer engagement and commercial strategy and leading and developing a team of account managers to deliver with the customer. You will be responsible for driving profitable share growth across a broad portfolio in addition to delivering Commercial returns.
An inspirational leader, you will be an outstanding communicator, able to translate strategic plans into actionable tactics. As part of the Sales Leadership team you will be responsible for key strategic business projects which deliver against our long-term goals .
•Ensures promotional strategy/ plan are implemented consistently across the channel in conjunction with SRM / Shopper Marketing supporting delivery of sector strategies
•Initiates project work to support channel and company objectives
•Evaluates promotional effectiveness to ensure the most efficient use of promotional expenditure.
•Achieve specific distribution objectives for existing and new products.
•Attend & participate in monthly Sales & Operation Planning meetings as appropriate
•Involved in specific project work as directed by the Sales Director
•Work with customers at senior level to support category plans which achieve mutually agreed objectives.
•Inspire your team through coaching, feedback, training and development.
•Ensure all cyclical people related activities are completed in a timely and thoughtful manner e.g. performance reviews.
•Encourage the creation and implementation of individual development plans by team member, identifying both strengths and development needs
•Creation of career succession and development plans for team using the career pathway
Qualifications / Work Experience / Technical Skills
•Previous sector leadership experience within a branded FMCG business. You will be an outstanding commercial leader able to balance the internal and external view.
•Strong understanding & experience of UK grocery trade.
•A focus on people leadership – exceling in coaching and developing your team
•Demonstrates an understanding of category management process and awareness of how to use process to generate wins for GMUK
•Confidence and ability to develop and present compelling sales presentations.
•Excellent influencing skills, both internally and externally.
•Results orientated with a bias towards being a positive change agent across the business.
•Exposure and / or involvement with trade / consumer marketing.
