Job Description

As the Quality Assurance Product Manager and reporting into the Quality Director (US) your focus is to ensure the food safety, regulatory compliance and quality of General Mills ANZ. Working with the cross functional business team and global food safety and quality teams you will provide General Mills Latina Fresh Pasta, Sauce and Meals business with the systems and capabilities to protect our brands. Includes implementing and facilitating programs to assure and maintain required Regulatory, food safety programs and quality performance targets throughout the Product Life Cycle; championing and building support across all Business functions to deliver Food Safety and Quality General mills objectives and identifying and initiating strategic Food Safety and customer focused quality improvement initiatives.

What do we need you to do?

  • Champion Consumer First Design and provide quality leadership throughout product development process.

  • Assure all products meet applicable local and international regulatory standards and provide support for regulatory issue management.

  • Ensure safe product design, (physical, chemical, microbiological and product labelling).

  • Provide supply chain support to Plant Quality, with guidance on product quality and Food safety requirements, exception management, Continuous Improvement, audits, productivity, cost saving and co-packers.

  • Identify quality and food safety improvement opportunities & support product safety innovations.

  • Coordinate problem solving initiatives to improve process capabilities and resolve product quality issues.

  • Assist product claims process in the resolution of customer & consumer complaints

  • Deliver competitive bench marking programs, support the review of the Quality Index programs.

  • Support cluster crisis management issues working closely with relevant teams.

Qualifications

What sort of person do we need?

  • University Degree in Biological Science, Engineering or Technical field

  • 5-10 years' experience within Food Manufacturing and a working knowledge and implementation of HACCP & Quality Management Systems. Including Thermal Process and Microbiology and solid experience with food laws and regulations

  • Passionate about food safety and quality with the drive for problem solving.

  • An autonomous self-starter with a proactive approach to work load management and complex project implementation.

  • Ability to identify and assess food safety and quality gaps and confidently communicate in a collaboratively.

  • Able to identify, engage and influence key stakeholders to deliver business objectives.

  • Consumer focused. Innovative. Flexible. Operationally and commercially minded.

  • Experience with high care chilled products highly desired

  • Previous food industry auditing experience highly desired.

  • Experience in training & development

  • Flexible with travel and work schedule.
