Job Description
Our Dental Suprascalers play a critical role in maintaining patients' oral health by focusing on the removal of supragingival deposits (plaque, tartar, and stains) from teeth surfaces. Working under the supervision of a licensed dental hygienist or dentist, our Suprascalers ensure that patients receive professional care and guidance to maintain optimal oral hygiene. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with dental hygienists and dentists to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Perform supragingival scaling to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth surfaces
- Take dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Polish teeth to smooth surfaces and improve appearance after scaling
- Educate patients on effective ways to maintain oral health and prevent plaque buildup, including proper brushing and flossing techniques
- Record treatment notes and observations in patients’ charts accurately
- Update and maintain patient records, sharing relevant information with the supervising dentist or hygienist
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment per health and safety standards
- Clearly explain procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have
Qualifications
- Dental Suprascaler Certificate
- Dental Assistant Certificate where state regulations specify
- X-ray certification where state regulations specify
- Valid CPR certification

Working Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry, transport, and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
