Gastroenterology Associates, P.A. was founded in 1996 with 2 Physicians and 3 employees. We have grown over the last 20 years to a group with 8 board certified physicians, 3 Mid-level providers and over 70 employees. Our practice is the premier Gastroenterology group in the Hickory metropolitan area, providing care for patients from a multi-county area covering a 50 mile radius. We operate a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center that has been recognized for outstanding quality by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Our ambulatory endoscopy facility is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and each year performs several thousand endoscopy exams safely in a comfortable outpatient setting. In addition to providing excellent outpatient Gastroenterology care, all of our providers are affiliated with Catawba Valley Medical Center and Frye Regional Medical Center, where we provide inpatient services.

Job Description

Our Gastroenterology Practice is seeking an excellent nurse leader to join and manage their dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and techs. This Registered Nurse Manager position is a working manager position in an accredited Endoscopy Center located in Hickory, NC The Nurse Manager is expected to lead, plan, and evaluate nursing practices and operations. The Nurse Manager will report to the CEO of the organization and will be responsible for maintaining quality standards and for ensuring proper patient care within this center.

 

Provide clinical and administrative leadership for nursing staff by developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, services, procedures, and quality nursing. The Endoscopy Nurse Manager provides input and is expected to meet budget, revenue and expense targets. Other aspects of this role include hiring and supervising employees, assigning work, coaching, evaluating performance, and completing corrective actions. The Nurse Manager is a positive leader with excellent people skills and nurturing of human resources, demonstrating transformational leadership by creating and sustaining a healthy work environment that supports, furthers and promotes excellence in patient care, critical nursing practice and patient safety. This position will monitor and control resources (human and material) and provide excellent customer service. The manager will encourage higher learning/ professional development in staff by cultivating talent and supporting people in meeting their career goals. The manager is responsible for reviewing and updating department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Graduate of a School of Nursing. BSN preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state
  • BLS Certification required and ACLS certification preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects while maintaining positive customer relations
  • Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to use problem resolution skills to recognize and investigate unusual occurrences and results
  • Knowledge of word and excel. Strong electronic health record navigation skills
  • Previous leadership experienced preferred
