Job Description
Gameloft Bucharest is looking for a skilled PHP Backend Developer to design, build, and improve internal accounting, financial, and reporting tools used globally across the company.
You will work mainly with PHP 7+/8+, Symfony, and databases such as MySQL, AWS Aurora, and Google BigQuery.
Our environment is fully containerized using Docker and Kubernetes, deployed on AWS, and integrated with GitLab CI/CD pipelines. We follow an Agile methodology, encouraging collaboration, flexibility, and continuous improvement.
We are also exploring how AI-assisted development and machine learning models can enhance automation, reporting accuracy, and developer productivity - so your curiosity and openness to these technologies will be highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for internal web-based tools used across the company.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with other developers, product owners, and analysts to design scalable solutions.
- Integrate third-party and internal APIs, databases, and cloud services.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
- Contribute to automation and performance improvements using AI-powered or data-driven tools.
- Monitor application health and performance, proposing optimizations and improvements.
Qualifications
- Object-oriented development with PHP 7+/8+ and Symfony frameworks.
- Knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and REST API design.
- Experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL.
- Good communication skills and ability to integrate quickly in a team.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful person.
- Ability to work as a team player, with initiative and openness to learning new technologies.
Nice to have:
- Experience writing unit tests using the PHPUnit framework.
- Experience with front-end technologies. Familiarity with Angular
- Knowledge with DevOps principles: Git flows, automated testing.
