Job Description

The Warehouse Manager will oversee and manage all inventory control operations, ensuring the efficient and timely flow of materials across our educational programs. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, you will play a key role in optimizing inventory processes and maintaining accuracy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support operational success.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

Inventory Management & Warehouse Operations:

  • Oversee and manage daily inventory control, including stock checks, receiving, and distribution of materials across all programs.

  • Implement inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.

  • Supervise the physical and digital documentation of inventory, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Manage warehouse operations, including the use of heavy equipment (pallet jack, picker, and forklift), ensuring all equipment is used safely and efficiently.

Supply Chain Optimization:

  • Lead supply chain management for consumable and non-consumable goods, ensuring timely procurement, tracking, and distribution.

  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, and program teams to align supply chain strategies with company goals.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

  • Review and negotiate pricing agreements to achieve cost-effective sourcing strategies.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory and warehouse performance, including turnover rates and stock accuracy.

  • Prepare and present regular reports to management, providing insights on inventory levels and recommending actions for optimization.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Directly manage a team of 4 year-round, and oversee the seasonal team of up to 12 employees, including training, delegation, and performance management.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety within the warehouse team.

  • Collaborate with Procurement and Logistics Managers to ensure a seamless procurement, receiving, shipping (to camps) and receiving (from camps) supplies process utilizing technology (e.g., bar coding) and best in class inventory management processes.

  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for team members to ensure their success.

COMPENSATION

We anticipate total compensation for this Full-Time, exempt position to be $80,000 - $110,000. Exact compensation may vary and will be based on multiple factors, including geography and professional experience.

WORK LOCATION

This is an in person/ onsite position located at the Galileo Warehouse: 2350 Davis Ave, Hayward, CA 94545


SCHEDULE & TIME COMMITMENT
This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week. While we prioritize work-life balance, there may be times when additional hours are necessary to meet deadlines and ensure the success of our programs. Additionally, HQ staff are expected to visit camp locations from June through August to experience camp first-hand and support our teams on the ground; 10-15% travel may be required for those located outside of a camp territory.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in production, supply chain, or inventory management, preferably in a high-growth environment.

  • 3+ years of experience managing a team within a production, supply chain, or warehouse setting.

  • Bi-lingual: Spanish/English required.

  • Experience managing warehouse management systems (WMS); Fishbowl Inventory experience is a plus.

  • Forklift certification and experience using heavy equipment such as pallet jacks and pickers.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage supply chain operations for both consumable and non-consumable goods.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with an emphasis on process improvement and attention to detail.

  • Experience working in a rapidly growing company with complex supply chain and inventory challenges.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with various departments.

  • Familiarity with compliance regulations and safety protocols related to warehouse operations.
