Job Description
Title: Facilities & Operations Support Technician
Reports To: Operations Director
Job Purpose: As the Facilities and Operations Support Technician, you will help keep the building, shop floor, and common areas clean, organized, safe, and operationally efficient. Responsibilities include light facility maintenance, janitorial support, scrap and chip handling, supply stocking, local pickups and deliveries, and general support for Production, Quality, Shipping/Receiving, and Leadership as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shop, offices, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas.
- Perform general janitorial tasks including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, restroom checks, and restocking paper products and cleaning supplies.
- Support scrap, chip, and waste removal processes in accordance with company expectations and safety requirements.
- Assist with light facility maintenance, minor repairs, basic troubleshooting, and communication of larger maintenance needs.
- Perform local pickups, deliveries, and errands for supplies, materials, tooling, uniforms, PPE, or other business needs.
- Support Shipping/Receiving, Production, Quality, and Operations with material movement, organization, and general shop support.
- Monitor and restock janitorial supplies, PPE, breakroom items, and other facility-related inventory.
- Maintain safe, clear, and organized walkways, work areas, storage areas, emergency exits, and shared spaces.
- Assist with basic setup and cleanup for employee meetings, lunches, appreciation events, and company activities.
- Operate carts, pallet jacks, forklift, company vehicle, or other equipment as trained and authorized.
- Follow all GTC safety policies, PPE requirements, quality expectations, and workplace procedures.
- Communicate facility, safety, maintenance, or supply concerns to the appropriate leader.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by helping identify opportunities to improve cleanliness, organization, safety, and daily workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, facilities support, maintenance, janitorial, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or operations support preferred.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and quality systems such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, and AS9100D preferred.
- Previous experience using standard shop tools, hand tools, and basic measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management, supply tracking, and recordkeeping.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and prioritize tasks based on production and operational needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Proficient in, or willing to be trained on, material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, forklifts, or other shop equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable, flexible, and willing to support multiple departments as business needs change.
