Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Loan Consultant/Branch Manager, the Loan Consultant plays a critical role that is responsible for business and smooth operations of a Branch. The Loan Consultant is fully accountable for high performance of the branch as a profit center by courteously attending to clients,  meetings sales targets, calling clients, taking part in marketing activities and providing excellent customer service to achieve set business targets. 

The specific responsibilities are listed below:

- Managing and handling the various salary advance products through conducting  consistent promotional and marketing activities

- Preparing debits and making follow-ups on unpaid loans

- Screening and counter-checking all submitted loan applications that have been        processed by clients

- Arrange appointments with clients as well as prepare a complete loan assessment in line with the GS Cash Advance credit policy

- Arrange for the disbursement of salary advances in collaboration and close liaison with the Senior Loan Consultant/Branch Manager

- Ensure punctual repayments of salary advances by monitoring using the company’s software and contacting clients

- Exercising sound commercial judgment in resolving issues appropriately within the confines of the company’s credit policy, sales strategy and other company rules/policies

- Provide input into new product development as well as channels and distribution of products;

- Manage key performance drivers, overall sales, and profitability across different products and channels;

- Drive new sales revenue and total revenue through acquisition, deepening & retention of customers;

- Closely Collaborate with Top, Senior management, Marketing Managers, Consultants and Independent Agents on effective outreach mechanisms and secure cost effective platforms to penetrate the markets

- Closely collaborate with the Marketing Department to Drive delivery of  Customer Service Excellence

- Be the first point of contact within the Customer Feedback mechanism to ensure that you facilitate continuous flow of feedback for continuous improvement, championing speedy resolutions of customer

- Manage a Customer Feedback mechanism that facilitates continuous flow of feedback for continuous improvement, championing of competitive advantage and speedy resolution of customer complaints and escalating very challenging customer complaints to the respective supervisor (either the Senior Loan Consultant or Branch Manager)

- Identify opportunities for process and client service improvements anchored on meeting client needs;

- Cash management: adherence to policy in safe handling and management of cash in the branch

- Monitor adherence to all set controls in order to mitigate business risks;

- Exercise sound commercial judgment in resolving issues appropriately within the confines of the credit policy, sales strategy and other company rules/policies;

- Ensure proper documentation is stored in line with provided company, regulatory and legal guidelines

- Ensuring adherence to policy in safe handling and management of cash in the branch i.e. custody, cash holding limits, repatriations, banking, withdraws and disbursements

- Propose to the Branch Manager territory specific cost effective Corporate Social Responsibility / Investment plan for the  business;

Qualifications

- Excellent analytical and communication skills (both in writing and orally)

-  High levels of integrity

-  Good banking and accounting skills

-  Good knowledge of all products and services offered by the company

-  Ability to use a variety of computer applications Fluency in English and any other local language

-  A minimum of a Diploma, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Accounting or any other Commercial Related Degree from a recognized University

-  Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
