Whether a publisher needs a paperback or hardcover edition, copies of an out-of-print book, or a small quantity of inventory to supply an order, JBS makes it happen with fast, friendly personalized service.
Provide general supervision of plant operations to ensure that books are manufactured efficiently, on time, within budget and to customer expectations.
Provides leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the bindery production
Ensures the efficient collaboration and coordination between various departments
Maintains a motivated and engaged workforce by directly managing, mentoring and coaching production leads, maintenance staff and department employees
Recruits, hires, and trains personnel in cooperation with leads and HR
Sets and monitors product quality standards
Manages production schedules and workflow
Manages equipment up-keep and capital improvements
Monitors budget expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality
Encourages and promotes process improvements
Responsible for purchasing materials and other supplies
Ensures implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
Conducts timely performance reviews and disciplinary actions
Provides all necessary employee paperwork and payroll information for HR
Works cooperatively with other GL group division staff on corporate initiatives
4-6 years of production management experience.
Solid leadership skills and the ability to manage, coach and motivate leads and employees
Sense of urgency and attention to detail
Proven ability to recognize and implement continuous improvements
Experience managing equipment preventive maintenance schedules
Strong multi-tasking and organizational ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Must be able to lift 30 pounds
