Job Description

Internal title: Technology Analyst. The internal day to day tasks and activities require the candidate to hold professional conversations in French. A professional level, even if not perfect, is therefore expected.

The Technology Analyst contributes to ensuring the sound evolution of the company’s technology infrastructure by producing analyses that meet the requirements of internal clients and recommend-ing which scalable solutions to choose. The Analyst’s main function is to design processes and deploy systems that will help to optimize the organization’s efficency.

The Technology Analyst reports to the Team Leader, IT.

Main responsabilities

1. Solution analysis and deployment

  • Based on requests from internal clients, identify requirements in order to prepare and present analysis documents that propose functional and scalable solutions.
  • Based on functional analyses, prepare and present architectural- and technological-analysis documents.
  • Plan and coordinate deployment of new technologies, taking account of the existing infrastructure and ensuring appropriate security. Document the new technologies to ensure knowledge transfer and enable the team to put them into operation.
  • For existing technologies, recommend modifications and compatible new technologies to be integrated. Evaluate the purchase of external hardware or software. Proactively manage changes and their impacts.
  • Carry out a technology watch relevant to the functions of the role.
  • Act as a technical reference for service providers.

2. Coordination of the assigned team’s work

  • Provide estimates of the required effort, costs and timelines for the work to be per-formed.
  • Plan and schedule the team’s work. Monitor the work to respect timelines and budgets.
  • Support and coach colleagues based on the incumbent’s expertise.

3. Support

  • Act as a technical reference when incidents are escalated. May contribute to solving significant problems referred by the Service Desk.
  • Analyse and document solutions to infrastructure-related problems.
  • Act as an advisor to internal clients for files or projects related to the incumbent’s field of expertise.

Qualifications

  • 2 years supporting or implementing infrastructures and/or systems, or any other relevant experience
  • Experience in system support, database management and security
  • Experience in project management
  • Certification (PMI-BA, COBIT, TOGAF), an asset
  • Proficiency in infrastructure and architecture concepts for business
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, engineering or a related field
  • Fluent in French
  • Fluent in English, an asset
