This role reports to the Finance Manager. The incumbent will take charge of the day-to-day monitoring of transactions, reconciliation, settlements, and resolution of exceptions and disputed transactions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure daily processing of net settlement files of banks in line with SLA and industry standards.
- Liaise with counterparties – experience centers, supervisors, area coordinators, settlement partners in relation to daily transactions and settlements.
- Daily reconciliation of all balances and transactions on electronic settlements/payments accounts with correspondent banks to internal general ledgers and Agility platform
- Render daily and periodic reconciliation reports.
- Resolving variances and disputes identified from reconciliation
- Overseeing the use and maintenance of POS devices across all assigned centers
- Ensure that all relevant transactions are posted accurately from both an accounting and partner perspective.
- Ensure that failed settlement transactions are tracked and resolved daily
- Take ownership and respond to transaction issues, queries and other reconciliation and settlements escalations
- Investigate and effectively manage the resolution of disputed transactions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- Reimbursement and posting of center floats
- Review of expectations when not available and appropriate escalation
- Review of exceptions (items outstanding post reconciliation; that is a comparison of internal expectations with statements/settlement entries).
- Escalation of exceptions to the relevant stakeholders
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations for all banks, resolution and posting of all reconciling items into the accounting software
- Ensure no loss of funds. Detect and escalate any loss of funds to all stakeholders promptly.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Experience in a settlement and reconciliation role in a regulated financial institution will be an added advantage.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, and ability to work with large volumes of data
- Relevant professional certification will be an added advantage
- Attention to details, and understanding of reconciliation.
- Microsoft Excel skills
- Willingness to learn and take ownership

Remuneration- N75,000 (for the three months period of internship, followed by a review, subject to satisfactory performance)
