MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Define, establish, control and maintain inspection and test equipment required by production, process engineering, quality and maintenance to comply with closure quality inspections throughout the process. Inspection and compliance review of raw materials and packaging materials. Development of procedures and work instructions required for the operation and calibration of equipment used for quality inspections.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the gage control program (Gage Track). Maintenance of masters and gages and equipment calibration.
Responsible to coordinate the plant scales PM maintenance and calibration (currently maintenance responsibility).
Responsible to manage and replenishment of top print plates, Standard Cards for Top Print and Golden Samples.
Process and Quality compliance audits in production lines:
CMM Programming, measurement and reports for profiles in Kilgore.
Production Video cameras assessment, evaluation and monitoring. (Including frequency charts validation).
Responsible to manage all documentation related to inspection equipment.
Perform the Cleaning and sanitation validations (North and South plant)
Training for production personnel regarding the measurement equipment.
New product measurement equipment selection and development.
Managing IMS Audits and audit findings. Interfacing with all other Third Party Auditors regarding calibration programs, micro test results and Incoming Raw Material Processes.
Provide inspection teams:
Search of appropriate inspection equipment to the characteristic to be assessed.
Installation and maintenance of equipment on the production floor.
Evaluate equipment in use.
Training in the use of equipment
Improvements in the deployed equipment.
Development of methods of using computers
Collaboration in search for alternative development and inspection devices.
Tests developing materials with external clients.
Tests requested by external customers across the area of process engineering.
Control of test procedures
Gages from maintenance:
Validation of inspection equipment from maintenance.
Advisor search and acquisition of equipment for testing the maintenance area
Testing of samples provided by customers:
Test samples of customer complaints.
Issue lab reports with the tests results,
Receiving inspection and testing of raw materials and packaging:
Analysis of raw materials.
Assessment of packaging materials.
Control approval system for polypropylene materials.
Notification to suppliers of nonconforming materials (DMR).
Evaluation of material received by a new supplier.
Support Materials Department audits or visits to local suppliers.
Management Software for calibration and measurement equipment (Gage Track).
Elaborate of calibration procedures and instructions.
Send external calibration equipment.
Search of improvements to current measuring equipment.
Maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
Measurement System Analysis (R & R).
Making dimensional studies of production parts required by the internal and external customers.
Having proper inspection and testing equipment which allows us to verify and validate product quality against established standards and if they find abnormalities can react immediately,
It is responsible for identifying, enlist, do a calibration program, perform internal calibration and maintain appropriate records of inspection and testing equipment
Ensure that (where applicable) the supply chain is made aware of their food safety obligations as our partner in the quest to deliver a safe product to the consuming public.
EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED certification preferred. Technical Degree is helpful.
Minimum of three to five years’ experience from on-the-job training programs and manufacturing experience is preferred.
Some degree of understanding in plastics molding processes along with all of its support equipment.
Requires a working knowledge of test and measurement equipment used to analyze product quality.
MUST be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Ability to locate information on an electronic data base of controlled documents, procedures, training, etc.; ability to focus on details for long periods of time; internal and external customer service is required
Teamwork, positive communication with others, and team problem solving are required. Written communication must follow CSI standards and values.
